Hey guys! As we are on the final countdown *cue the song from 1980* to con…we’re making this post to remind you of important information. Sort of a “catch-all” of our Frequently Asked Questions.

What are the hours of registration?

Thursday- 4pm-8pm (This is for pre-registered attendees ONLY. No walk-in badges will be sold on Thursday)

Friday – 9am-7pm

Saturday – 9am-7pm

Sunday – 9am-2pm

What are the walk-in prices for badges?

3-day badge: $50

Friday badge: $30

Saturday badge: $30

Sunday badge: $20

Do I need to buy a badge for my 'X' year old?

Children 7 years and under will receive free entry with a regular adult badge purchase. Children 8 years and over will need to purchase a badge if at regular price to attend Anime Blues Con.

Is this con appropriate for *insert age of child here*?

Anime Blues is a family-friendly convention. There is plenty to see and do if you are underage. While we do have an Adult Track, every one of those events requires you to prove that you are 18+. Security will be at the door checking IDs, so your little one will not be allowed access.

When will “specific panel/autograph times/dealer’s room hours/etc.” be?

Where can I get the “Age Verified” wristband to attend the Adult panels?

Registration Desk (but please be advised that ABC staff/security reserve the right to ask for your ID even if you have an “Age Verified” wristband in your possession).

Will I be able to bring my prop/weapon to con?

I’m so hungry….. what is there to eat?

The Sheraton Hotel will have a food area set up in the Exhibit Hall with basic con fare. Nachos, BBQ, Hot Dogs, Salads, Wraps, etc. If you would like to see what restaurants are within walking distance, please check out our map that we made just for you! https://goo.gl/maps/rHt2HyvGAft

I LOST MY IMPORTANT ITEM!!! WHERE COULD IT BE?

Lost and Found is at the Registration Table. After registration hours, it will be in the Convention Operations room. (PLEASE keep up with your stuff. ABC is not responsible for lost personal items.)

Someone has made me uncomfortable…what do I do?

If you are being harassed, please find a member of staff or security. We should be very visible throughout the con. We encourage ALL attendees to read through the Code of Conduct that is required of our attendees. Anime Blues has a “zero tolerance” stance on harassment. If someone breaks this code, they are subject to be kicked out of the convention. https://www.yamacon.org/code-of-conduct/

After much delay and anticipation, the Staff of Anime Blues is proud to announce the Schedule of events is now published and ready!

Start planning your weekend adventure now and we look forward to having you join us for Anime Blues Con 2018!

 

As always we’re using Sched which allows you to create your own personal schedule if you create an account and also allows you to save the schedule to your home screen if you’re using a smartphone.

Click on the 3-Dot menu icon right below the time. (I’m using an Android phone, however, I imagine the directions remain roughly the same)

A menu should open up displaying some options for the page and select, “Add to Home screen”

Finished! Assuming you were able to follow along from here an icon should have been added to your Home screen on your phone which will allow you quick access to the Schedule.

Welcome back to another exciting year of Anime Blues Con and hopefully, with this post this will help answer a few questions you may have.

 

  • Early badge pick-up (Pre-Registered attendees only) – Thursday, June 28th 4pm-8pm located at the MCCC (Exhibit Hall/Ballroom level)

  • General Registration opens – Friday, June 29th at 9am

  • Events/Dealers/Autograph Hall opens – 10am

Cancellation policy:

If you cancel between 02/23/2018 and 4:00 PM hotel time on 06/26/2018, there will be no forfeiture amount. If you cancel after 4:00 PM hotel time on 06/26/2018, the forfeiture amount will be a 1-night stay.

 

GTD/Deposit policy :

Please note that any change in your reservation may change the rate and/or require payment of cancellation fees. For reservations guaranteed with a form of payment at time of booking, rooms are held until hotel check-out time the day following arrival. For reservations not guaranteed with a form of payment at time of booking, rooms are held until set cancellation time per the rules of the reservation. In the event more guests arrive than can be accommodated due to hotel overbooking or an unforeseen circumstance, and hotel is unable to hold rooms consistent with this room hold policy, hotel will attempt to accommodate guests, at its expense, at a comparable hotel in the area for the oversold night(s), and will pay for transportation to that hotel.

Weather Cancellation @ ABC Winterfest Remix

After careful consideration and for the safety of our attendees, guests and staff, we feel its better to cancel our event. We’ve tried to reschedule but there is no available date to hold our large event in the near future on short notice.

For those who have preregistered, there are several options that you can choose.

1) For a full refund:

If purchased on eventbrite, send an email to support@www.yamacon.org with the full name that the ticket was purchased by (not for who it was for), how many tickets, and order number if available. Your refund should be given within 48 hrs.

If purchased from Animax, you can go to the store during normal hours and get your cash refund. Please have your receipt or your ID available.

2) To use toward ABC 8

Send a message to support@www.yamacon.org, with your name and order number if available and we will send you a discount code to use toward the amount paid once tickets go on sale Feb 1st.

If you purchased a VIP ticket, you will have first choice on purchasing a VIP ticket for the summer event and use the discount code toward the ticket. Your code will also allow you to purchase them 2 weeks before anyone else.
